About This Item
Crossing the Red Sea was the easy part.
Learning to live together as a community? That’s where the real adventure began!
The official companion piece to season 1 of the hit TV series The Promised Land, this six-session Bible study takes you on a fun, faith-filled journey through the book of Exodus—one laugh-out-loud episode at a time. Rooted in Scripture but refreshingly relatable, the study follows Moses and the Israelites as they stumble, grumble, bicker, and bond their way through the wilderness (and occasionally wonder why God didn’t just give them a map).
An engaging blend of thoughtful teaching and discussion questions, you’ll wander the wilderness with these biblical heroes and learn about:
· the challenges—and value—of being part of a community
· the importance of grace, humility, and forgiveness

Video Session Summaries:
o Session One: And we’re off (33:22) — Community was never meant to be a solo endeavor. Life in the wilderness was messy and unpredictable. In this session, you will look behind the characters of The Promised Land to Exodus 17–18 and discover what their real-life stories teach us about the beauty and necessity of community.
o Session Two: The sand is always softer in someone else’s camp (35:10) — Comparison has a way of making someone else’s life look better than our own. As the Israelites face the challenges of the wilderness, this session will explore how pride and insecurity can distort your perspective, and how God invites us to trust his provision and purpose right where we are.
o Session Three: Between a struck rock and a dry place (35:03) — The wilderness has a way of revealing what’s happening beneath the surface. Through the Israelites’ failures in Exodus 20 and 31–32, in this session you will examine how to respond when circumstances unravel and discover what it looks like to remain faithful when following God doesn’t go as expected.
o Session Four: Where do we go from here? (31:41) — After failure, guilt can leave us wondering how to make things right and move forward. In this session you will look at Exodus 34–35 and discover the hope of a God who makes a way back to him and invites us to keep showing up, for him and for one another.
o Session Five: The path forward (36:16) — God’s Word doesn’t just reveal truth; it changes how we relate to one another. In this session, as the Israelites build the Tabernacle and learn God’s laws, they discover that moving forward together requires honest communication, forgiveness, and choosing to love one another even when it’s hard.
o Session Six: This is what we seek (48:46) — As the Tabernacle is consecrated, God’s presence transforms a divided community, bringing harmony where there had been conflict. AS this session looks at Exodus 39–40, you will discover what becomes possible when imperfect people make room for God, and for one another.
